About the Murphy family and Lulu

Thanks for visiting! We are Lisa and Jim Murphy in Delray Beach, Florida. God called us to grow our family through adoption, and we have been so blessed by our four beautiful children that we have decided to grow some more!

Our daughter, Madolyn (Madi), came home from China in 2006 as a robust one-year old baby. She is now in the 4th grade and brings such joy to our lives each day. She is smart. She is kind. And she is as determined as they come. Madi loves being an altar server at Mass, spending time with family and friends, and she twirls baton for sport. She is an awesome big sister.

Our angel, Daniel, was adopted into our family in 2010 at two years of age. We were blessed by his physical presence for four months, but complications from open-heart surgery took him from life on earth and he now lives in Heaven. He was the gift that opened our hearts more than we could've ever imagined.

You can read all about our first son in our memoir called With an Open Heart.

Soon after we lost Daniel, we traveled back to China in 2011 to bring home our son Charlie, who was a tiny 18 month old baby living in a very large orphanage. He had a hole in his heart, but that heart is now healed and full of love, and he's our sensitive one. Charlie just started school as a Kindergarten student and aims to be a "struction worker" when he's ten. Charlie loves to talk about God, especially the fact that "God's the Boss."

In 2013, we felt the call of the Holy Spirit again and were led to our son, Joseph, who was 5 1/2 when we adopted him in September, 2014. He is a gem, and he has amazed us with his determination and his resilience. He, too, entered Kindergarten this month, and his English is flourishing as we approach the one year mark of having him home. When asked what he wants to be when he grows up, he replies, "I want to be with my family."

I knew we weren't done though. It just seemed that there was another child waiting for us, and this summer, we were led to precious Lulu. We knew in our hearts that she was meant to be our daughter. Lulu turned five this summer and has lived her whole life in an orphanage in the Shanxi province of China. Her adoption file was prepared, interestingly, on the day that we came home with Joseph last year, and only just recently was her file released to an agency. God's perfect timing.

We appreciate your support to make this adoption happen, and there's one thing we know for sure...it's time for Lulu to know the love of a family.
